At 麻豆区, our tamariki are at the heart of all our teaching and learning. Our staff provide an environment where children can flourish academically, physically, artistically, socially and emotionally.
We have a collective ethos of care, fostering close, positive relationships with students and their families, reflecting our school values of respect, manaaki, integrity, whakakotahi, perseverance, manawanui, empathy and aroha. We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) school with a clear focus on the whole child. We align our teaching and learning alongside the Key Competencies within the NZ Curriculum.
We are a small school and get to know all our tamariki and wh膩nau really well. One of our strengths is the huge diversity within the school with over 20 different cultures. We love the richness this brings to our kura.
We believe in a well rounded curriculum where Reading, Writing and Maths are taught daily alongside many other opportunities including:
Our teachers are second to none in their enthusiasm, creativity, and sincere engagement with the children’s educational progress.
We are an open, friendly school and invite you to come for a visit. Our principal, Jan McDonald, will be pleased to answer your questions and show you around. Come see for yourself the school we are so proud of!
